Counseling Room / Re: How to Give Advice About Islam

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the World; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.

Allah Created people only to worship Him. Allah Says (interpretation of meaning): {And I (Allah) created not the Jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me (Alone).} [51: 56]. So, anybody who excels in worshipping Allah, Paradise will be his reward. And whoever turns away from worshipping Allah, Hell will be His Punishment.

On the Day of Judgment, Allah will Call to account all people for whatever they have committed, no matter how small or minor it is. So, they will be asked and held responsible for the good deeds as well as the bad ones they did in this life. Allah Says (interpretation of meaning): {So whosoever does good equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant) shall see it. And whosoever does evil equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant) shall see it.} [99: 7-8].

We deduce from the above that this life is - in its real form - a moment of trial while the Hereafter is where the results are exhibited and displayed. Thus, the sane and intelligent person in this life is the one who performs only the good deeds and hurries to accomplish them. Allah Says (interpretation of meaning): {And march forth in the way (which leads to) forgiveness from your Lord, and for Paradise as wide as the heavens and the earth, prepared for Al-Muttaqun. Those who spend (in Allah's Cause) in prosperity and in adversity, who repress anger, and who pardon men; verily, Allah loves Al-Muhsinun (the good-doers).} [3: 133-134].

This is why the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) warned us against the temptations and seclusion of this life. But, he invited us to perform good deeds. Abu Sa'id Khudri reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: "This world is sweet and green (alluring) and verily Allah is going to install you as vicegerent in it in order to see how you act. So, avoid the allurement of this world and that of women: verily, the first trial for the people of Israel was caused by women" . [ Muslim ] And in the Hadith transmitted on the authority of Ibn Bashshar the words are: 'so that He should see how you act'.

Our Lord also warned us against this life's temptations. He Said: {O mankind! Verily, the Promise of Allah is true. So let not this present life deceive you, and let not the chief deceiver (Satan) deceive you about Allah.} [35: 5]. Allah also Says (interpretation of meaning): {Nay, you prefer the life of this world, Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting.} [87: 16-17]. He also Says: {… Verily, the home of the Hereafter - that is the life indeed (i.e. the eternal life that will never end), …} [29: 64].

This means that the Hereafter is the real and permanent life while this life (Dounia) is doomed to extinction. Dounia is where the person acts and does what he wants while the Hereafter is where he is called to account and judged for his acts. On the other hand, the person is commended to populate the Earth and establish the way of the truth on it. Allah has made lawful to the person to enjoy and benefit from all the Tayibat (all kinds of Halal lawful foods and amenities, … etc.). Allah has subjugated to the people all that is on the Earth and in the Heavens. Allah Says (interpretation of meaning): {And has subjected to you all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth; it is all as a favour and kindness from Him. …} [45: 13].

So, nobody should think that the life of the believer is all hardship and difficulty. In fact, the opposite is true. Allah bestows on the believes the good life. He grants them the true happiness. Allah Says (interpretation of meaning): {And whoever does righteous good deeds, male or female, and is a (true) believer [in the Oneness of Allah (Muslim)], …} [4: 124].

Allah - from His Own Goodness - rewards us even on the lawful acts we perform such as eating, drinking, having legal ***, … if our intention while performing those acts is to get stronger as to be able to worship Allah, the way He wants.

So, the Muslim is allowed to get the most of all that is lawful in this life regardless of his state and piety. While some other religions forbid to the religious people many life enjoyments such as *** …
Allah knows best.

Dear brother Jalil !

according to your question , that you asked .
we can say some things:
1. the doubt fast (roza) is not legal, you should satisfy your self that the date is approved by an Islamic board or at least 3 evidence
2. if the Sodai Arabia take the responsibility of announcing the starting date of Ramadan , then it is for the announcer to give one or more days FIDEA of all who took the Fast on their announcement .
3. if you have been fully satisfied that one day or more was left behind , if you take Qazaee Roza (latter taken Fast) it is good, but if you do not take latter fast , no problem. you are not blame because you believed on an Islamic board or 3 evidence.

I reverted to Islam eight years ago. My job is teaching English in an Asian country. One of my students is a biology professor and MD in his late fifties. He often talks about his need to find the meaning of life. He was raised in what may be called a "secular religion" (an atheistic one.) While he alludes to the belief in God as a good thing, he shows little susceptibility to it. (He is hung up on the problem of evil in the world.) I know this is an opportunity to tell him about Islam, but am unsure how to proceed. Any talk about Islam is hampered by the fact that local Islamic separatists have killed over sixty unarmed people in two incidents this year. I would appreciate if anyone could offer me advice as to what to say to this man.

  Assalam alaikum,
Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:--

ALL THE DAY".  [Bukhari: Vol.7, Book 64 No. 265]

In the light of this Noble Hadith, we may as well resolve to be looking after a widow and/or a poor person in our neighbourhood, so as to reap the benefits of so doing accordingly.....

It is reported that ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said,

“I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) as saying, '(The religion of) Islam is based on five (pillars): to testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad (peace be upon him)  is His Servant and Messenger; to establish the prescribed prayers; to pay the obligatory Zakah; to make Hajj (pilgrimage); and to observe Fasting throughout the month of Ramadan.’ "

(Recorded by Al-Bukhary in Kitab Al-lman (Book on Faith); hadith no. 8; and also recorded by Imam Muslim in Kitab Al-lman (Book on Faith); hadith no. 16/21.)

Sura At-Takathur :

1. The piling up diverts you,
2. Until you visit the graves.
3. Verily, but you shall soon know.
4. Again, verily but you shall soon know.
5. Verily, were you to know with certainty,
6. You will certainly see the Hell-fire!
7. Again, you will see it with certainty of sight!
8. Then shall you be questioned that Day concerning pleasure.

The Sahabiyyat (Women Companions) were the noble women who were the contemporaries of the Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu A’laihi wa Sallam). They were the pure, ideal muslim women, and were honored during the very lifetime of the Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu A’laihi wa Sallam) with the prediction that they would live forever in Paradise in the Hereafter. Their achievements and influence are found in every sphere of that momentous period in the history of the world, when the whole of humanity would be transfigured forever. They were as active in religion as in politics, as courageous in war as in the peaceful and persuasive propagation of the teachings of Islam. These noble selfless women could be found in the battlefields among the foremost ranks of those taking part in Jihad. They were to be found in the political arena, in the field of education, in the courts of Islamic jurisprudence, in the interpretation of Shari'ah, in trade and commerce, in agriculture, in medicine and in nursing. In short there was no sphere that did not benefit from their intellect, their wisdom and their gentle yet firm strength of character.

Sufyan bin 'Abdullah Ath-Thaqafy reported that he said,

“I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, tell me about Islam a thing which might dispense with the necessity of my asking anybody after you.’ Prophet (Sallallahu A’laihi wa sallam) remarked, ‘Say I affirm my faith in Allah and then remain steadfast to it.’ ”
